College
Biscuits and gravy, a dish that is delicious whether you make it from scratch or cut some corners. This breakfast can be transformed in many ways, but if you are in college you can be a little limited.
Being a college student saving money and being smart with your money was very important. Especially when buying food, one of the best things I learned during culinary school is buying items that you can cross utilize. For this recipe, in particular, it will only take three ingredients, all that can be used for different things throughout the week. If you are a family and not an individual, I highly recommend buying double the amount of ingredients except for the sausage that should be enough to last you a week.
Alternatives
Now, unfortunately, this recipe is not vegan, but it can be vegetarian if you use Beyond Meat Sausage. Personally, I have had this product before. I can say it tastes like breakfast sausage, so it should work well with the other ingredients (Thanks, Kara! :)).

Notes
Cost of this biscuit and gravy
In addition, I would say this recipe is particularly cheap based on the different uses of the ingredients and how you spread them out throughout the week. At Walmart, at least in the one in my area, it cost me a dollar for a five-count of Pillsbury golden layer butter tastin’ biscuits. For the sausage, I personally prefer Jimmy Dean; it cost me 3.48 for a 16oz package. It is the most expensive thing on this list, but the roll can easily be spread out to two weeks. The final ingredient is country gravy, I used McCormick country gravy or their sausage flavored country gravy for 98 cents. In total, this would cost you 5.46 without tax, now I know that that sounds like a lot of money, but look at it this way.
Additional options
If sausage is not your thing, this recipe is also great with bacon. As a student, if you want this to last you the whole week, I recommend pairing it with eggs to add more protein. To spread out your options, you could use some of the biscuits to make breakfast sandwiches. The gravy will taste on some hash or hashbrowns. There are a lot of options, don’t be afraid to mix it up; eating the same thing every day is boring.
