Marshmallow Season
Rice Krispies a delightful treat for any occasion, but there is no other day that screams marshmallows like easter. The great thing about these treats is that you don’t have to be religious to enjoy the wide range of marshmallow treats and pretty colors. However, there is always one problem I have when I try to enjoy a Rice Krispy treat and that is that they are rock hard. They become bricks after a say and that’s just a mouth full of disappointment. So this week I’m going to share my trick for getting super soft Rice Krispies. Not only are they soft but they will stay soft for three days!
Rice Krispies Direction Help
The first step to making these Rice Krispies is your butter! In a large pot set on low heat, you want to add your butter and let it melt. As it melts you want to add in your mini marshmallows and marshmallow creme/fluff. Unfortunately, I could not find any mini marshmallows so I had to make it without them.
The next step would be to add any food coloring you would like. Of course, if you are making these for easter then you would use pink, blue, purple, green, and yellow. Just be careful on how much you add aim for a pastel color.
But keep in mind that when you add your cereal the color is going to get slightly lighter. Besides that, when you add in your cereal you want to turn off the heat. And quickly mix everything together so nothing burns.
Once you have mixed everything together, go ahead and pour it on a buttered parchment paper or aluminum foil. With buttered fingers shape your treats and make them as thick or thin as you want. When you have made it your desired thickness you can go ahead and cut out your shapes and decorate!
